In addition to significantly
lowering and stabilizing the costs of solar electric production,
while lessening the adverse environmental impact of electricity
production, Mök's critical competitive advantage is its
proprietary technologies. Specifically, the development of
a photovoltaic cell (PV cell) that will convert sunlight to
electricity with efficiencies greater than 30% and the production
without the creation of any greenhouse gases. Using this new
PV cell technology, Mök is constructing concentrating
solar power (CSP) modules that will produce electricity at
less than 2 cents per kilowatt-hour. These systems are expected
to be competitive with current electricity market prices,
even with average insolation rates as little as 2 hours per
day.
Current cost figures for Mök
Industries solar electricity are calculated without the addition
of tax credits, emissions credits, or government funding.
Although it is expected that tax credits in some form will
be available, they are not factored in the financial projections
due to program changes that often accompany an administration
change. Emissions credits, or the trading of emissions credits,
are another valuable benefit to the production and use of
Mök Industries' solar electricity.
